Holiday Season Festivities

My promises are not meant to be illusory, but apparently I am full of them.  Boy do I miss blogging and now that I am done with my first semester I am feeling so guilty! I really wanted to blog but my days were so full.  I think next semester will be full as well but now I know what to expect and maybe can plan better. I think after football season my study and blogging habits will both increase.

Have I told you what my schedule was like? Yesterday was my last final and the week prior was dead week so I only went to campus twice, but normally I would leave home before 7:00am and get off work at 4:00pm. 9/10 days I would go straight to school and had class M-Th until either 8:30 or 9:30. Often times if my class ended earlier I would stay and study. On the weekends we have been going to the Raiders games and I have attempted to catch up on anything that I could but a few weekends were homework only.

Today is my first day of FREEDOM for 1 month! We are having a lazy morning watching football and in a couple of hours we are heading to Golden Gate Fields to watch some horse racing on Dollar Day!

I have a few recent pics below to keep you interested!

Our tree that we finally got last night post final:

Tree 2013

It’s about 6 feet but this picture makes it look smaller 🙂 Here is a picture from this morning, Wally is pushing his fate….

I have not allowed myself to do many Christmasy things so that I don’t distract myself from studying, but I have let myself indulge a few times:

How could I not when it looks like this outside most days?

Foggy SF morning

Here is a glimpse into my Sunday when the Raiders are in town:

Raiders Tailgate

Our group makes THE BEST tailgate food, ever. I followed the following recipe one day, OMG it was so good!pullapartbread3

I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday and if you celebrate holidays, I hope you get into the spirit today if you haven’t already.  We are already full blown Christmas at work, I will post some pics this week. Our office Christmas party is Friday and I still need to find a gift. Other things coming up on my agenda:

  • Saturday at Mom’s house
  • Sunday- Raiders game
  • The following week we have an office pot luck and raffle
  • December 19-21, romantic weekend away in Sonoma
  • Christmas week mayhem
  • New Years in LA
  • Girls Tahoe weekend
  • School starts again :/

Phew! OK, now that you know way too much about my definite plans, I also intend to bake a lot of goodies and if I can, but probably not, I would like to craft a bit. I have a Santa bottle project in my periphery.

Q: What craft projects have you been undertaking this holiday season?

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Moms out there!  I’m not a mother but I certainly appreciate my own Mom and the many I have adopted over the years!

Mothers Day

My Mom means so much to me, and although she doesn’t read this blog, I LOVE YOU MOM!!  It’s been a tough year for her and I appreciate her more than ever.  She is always there when we need her and gives great advice.

Today we went to my Aunt and Uncle’s house for brunch, it was lovely.  The food is always delicious and we tend to leave feeling so full we could pop.

Afterward I went grocery shopping and tonight I plan on doing a little laundry and MAYBE work on my final paper of my undergrad.  Yesterday Jen and I went to visit my BFF Noel who is in the Coast Guard while she is dry docked near our town.  We had lunch and walked on the beach before heading back to the ship.  She will be in Alaska for the next two years so it was sad to say goodbye. Sad smile As soon as we got home we got ready and headed out to a bachelorette party for Jen’s friend.  We danced like fools and had a lot of fun.  It was a late night and I’m sure I will also be in bed early tonight!

I left my phone in the car so I didn’t take any pictures, but if you could imagine a mechanical bull, a live band, and a dance floor, you have it!

I hope you have a great night!

Family filled week

What a beautiful Sunday morning!

I woke up this morning refreshed and ready to get outside despite the fact that I HAVE TO write a paper today.  So Joseph and I decided to walk to breakfast and meander around the grocery store for some food for lunch and dinner.  It was so nice to get out into the fresh air in the morning and take our time browsing and laughing.  Joe called it a morning date, so cute!

This past week I had such a fun time with Jamie who was on Spring Break.  We brought her home on Easter so she could hang out in P Town for the week.

Easter Sunday was so nice at my Mom and Dad’s house.  The whole (local) family came over and some close family friends too.  We relaxed and enjoyed a yummy feast!

Later on Kylie started to color and the rest of us girls flocked to the crayons and had way too much fun!

After Easter Jamie came home with us for a week of fun! We went for a walk almost every day and out to dinner almost every night.  On Tuesday she went to SF with me for a tour of USF law school.  But first we met Joe for lunch and then had a little treat!

USF was so awesome! It even made Jamie and Joe want to go there Smile

Throughout the week we went shopping, we played bocce ball and Jamie drove the car! She even went to work with me one day.  It was a busy and fun week.  We ended it yesterday with a visit with Great Grandma in Roseville.

The family all drove up and met again, two weekends in a row! It was so special to visit with her- can you believe she is 97?!

Great Grandma had a great day and was talking and dancing. She just adored Kylie! All day Kylie treated us to her piano skills and we soaked it up.  What a talented little one!

Such a lovely memory!

Now as I type the Giants World Series ring ceremony is on TV. I have CHILLS!  We are going to our first game of the season tomorrow night (woo hoo!).

I’m sure I will blog about it!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to each and every one of you!

First and foremost, THANK YOU for reading my blog and making this an outlet for me as well as a great source of support.  I love to hear from all of you and hope that the next year of blogging is even better than 2012 was! (Even though it was awesome!)

Last night Joseph and I went to our friend Matt’s house to celebrate New Years Eve.  Before we arrived there, we went to Sushi with our good friends Steven, Jenna, Brian, and  Ashley. We started the night off right with a Sake bomb and some delicious food.

After dinner we headed over to Matt’s and saw so many of our friends! It made the night special to celebrate with people that mean so much to us. Shout out to Matt, Jill, Steven, Jenna, Rachel, Tyson, Anna, Anthony, Katie, Amy, Travis, Kayla, Greg, Alyssa, Josh, Danny, Kim, and everyone else that we saw last night!

Even if I was the ONLY sober person in the house, I still had a great time.  I met some new friends, and caught up with old.  We even had a theme….’Merica.  It was said far too many times last night!

We finally made it home around 3:30 am and got some sleep.  Today we plan on recovering (well he does!), and relaxing while watching some college football and eating some pizza.  I might even break out my new Cricut and do some scrapbooking!

happy new year 2013

Q: How will you and yours ring in the first day of the year?
