Looking back on last year’s resolution list I am proud to say I did more than I expected! I got a good enough LSAT score to get into law school, I started and finished my first semester and I passed!! I also flew for the first time to LA for work and for New Years 2014 I flew there again, but for fun! Things I did not do: run or get engaged, can’t win them all!

This year I think it will be fun to make a quarterly goal along with some good old fashioned resolutions!

1st Quarter Goal: Buy better clothes- you don’t have to ask me twice!!

  • Do the majority of my homework on the weekend so I can breathe during the week.
  • Explore SF in ways I have always wanted to do but never made time for.
  • Run the Oakland half marathon in March- we started running already!
  • Read the Hunger Games series.
  • Go on a real vacation this summer, maybe Scotland! Any tips?

Q: What are your resolutions this year? If you don’t make resolutions, why?

A good day with great friends!

Yesterday was a day well spent!  Our good friends Rachel and Tyson came over with their adorable little one, Jack Jack!  The boys watched football and the girls hit the new Livermore outlets.

Jen, Rachel, and I shopped for a few hours and came home with some great deals! Rachel got a nice jacket from Volcom that was on sale from $99 to $10- can you believe that?? We all thought it was a mistake, but it was just a really good deal. She also got two pairs of jeans for her husband for $24, and if you have ever shopped at Volcom you know that’s a steal.  I brought home this little gem:

Fox Sweatshirt

I am so excited to have found it for only $20! It is a vintage style Fox sweatshirt that reminds me and Jen of an old shirt that my Dad used to have.  When I was 7 my Grandma found the shirt in the attic and I wore it ALL the time.  It is also perfect for Supercross this month, I’m so excited!!

After we came back the girls played the Friends trivia game and Rumikub while the boys finished watching football, and we all played with Jack Jack.

Jack Jack 1-5 2

Isn’t he the cutest? He learned to say Joe Joe yesterday, it melted our hearts! Rachel sent us the cutest video of him waking up this morning still saying it!

We had a really fun day, it was so nice to catch up!

On another note- who else is excited for the Bachelor to premier tomorrow?

Clothing Obsessions/Patterns

Hello there!

Before I get to the topic of this post, I just wanted to say that I have had a great response to the book club idea! I have not had any comments, but many people have “liked” the page which makes me think it will be a good idea. The worst case scenario, I read books and tell you all about them and maybe you will read them later on. I think I will start with a book club in January!

I heart book club

Back to the topic-clothing obsessions/patterns. As I was doing my laundry a week or so ago, I noticed that I have been buying so many things with a striped pattern. Then I thought about my patterns throughout my life and I have had some really funny ones!

When I was younger I thought anything with sparkle, glitter, or sequence was the bomb, and I only wanted to wear clothing with those features.  I have two school pictures in the same sequenced vest because it was my favorite piece. LOL Things haven’t changed much in that department, I love me some sparkle!

When I was a bit older (junior high/high school), I was OBSESSED with pink and matching. I had pink shoes and a pink back pack, and every item of my outfit needed to match. It was ok to wear jeans and a normal sweater/jacket, but my socks, shirt, and undergarments HAD TO match what I was wearing. That little OCD habit extended beyond the pink phase and lasted until I was probably 20.

A couple of years into high school I decided to be more professional. For about a year there I wore slacks and other trousers, nice shoes, and blouses almost every day. I think at the time I was trying to look older. I grew out of that and went back to normal high school jeans and t-shirts!

I regretted that little move when I started to work at GMK and had to wear business casual every day. I did not have very many weekend outfits as I did not have tons of money to shop and wanted things that I could wear any day of the week.

I went through a brown phase along the way as well. I wanted my clothes to be able to match everything and stayed with neutral colors and that was a lot of brown. My sister used to bother me all the time about my brown obsession. She just could not understand my reasoning, to this day she still points out brown things when we shop. For the record it has been probably 5 years since and I only own 1 brown cami and 1 pair of brown and pink pjs.

Lately I have been obsessed with stripes, as I mentioned above. If you don’t believe me, check it out:

stipe obsession

Admittedly, some of these are a little older, but I keep them around because they are some of my favorites. I’m also a little embarrassed to admit that this little problem continues into my collection of unmentionables. I think I need a new obsession. I also want to point out that I seem to LOVE grey. Why??

So let me hear it..

Q: What is your current obsession/pattern? What are some the phases you have been through?
